Leadership Development

Leadership development is a core component of the NCL experience. Over the course of their six years in NCL, we watch our daughters blossom into accomplished young women ready to take on the world.

Our program is built around a framework wherein Ticktockers increasingly take on more and more personal responsibility for setting agendas, conducting their meetings, planning grade level events, etc., so that by the time they are in the 12th grade they are in complete control of all of these activities and responsibilities.

Our Six Year Core Program provides the roadmap to ensure that our Ticktockers are exposed to a variety of career, life skill, and educational topics. We touch on a wide range of age-appropriate topics including parliamentary procedure, public speaking, internet safety, personal brand, dating and relationships, car safety, applications and interview skills, time management, independent living skills, college life, and more.  Ticktockers are involved in identifying guest speakers of interest.

Each Ticktocker class has Board Officers and Appointed positions. Members have opportunities to engage in experiences that build essential skills, such as confidence, consensus and team building, event planning, conflict resolution and parliamentary procedure. Ticktocker Boards assume responsibility for setting meeting agendas, planning philanthropy activities and cultural outings, and more. Every Ticktocker is encourage to serve on the grade level Board at least once during her years in NCL.
