Cultural Experiences

As future leaders, our Ticktockers continually strive to build stronger ties with our community and the individuals within it. Through this exposure and understanding our Ticktockers are able to grow and develop broader worldviews that will shape and support their lives. Our Six Year Core Program identifies a specific cultural focus for each grade level to ensure that Ticktockers are exposed to a wide range of cultural experiences (dance, music, theatre, etc) during their journey through our program.

We celebrate our history through traditions that honor the past while serving the future.  These traditions include an annual Chapter Tea, Senior Recognition, Holiday Food Baskets for underprivileged families, Sewing Bees, and more.

Chapter Tea

The Chapter Tea is one of the oldest traditions of National Charity League, Inc. Our Chapter honors this tradition by holding a Chapter Tea and Awards each Spring. The Tea provides the perfect opportunity for Patronesses and Ticktockers to come together as a community to keep alive the elegant traditions of the past- complete with a Senior Ticktocker and Patroness receiving line- and to celebrate our accomplishments of today as we recognize members with Chapter and grade level awards. Our 12th grade Ticktockers enjoy the very special and poignant Senior Medallion Tea, usually in January.

Senior Recognition

Senior Recognition, or Senior Presentation, is a celebration of the culmination of six years of service and leadership development for our Ticktockers. This beautifully moving event honoring our graduating Senior Ticktockers serves as the perfect tribute to the young ladies we have prepared to send off into the world. Presentation usually takes place in Spring.

Cultural Outing

The annual cultural outing is a grade level event. It is organized by the Ticktocker VP Outings in conjunction with the Patroness assigned to coordinate the outing. Every grade level has a specific cultural focus for that year, from dance to theatre to art and more. Within that theme, Ticktockers are free to choose an appropriate outing- for Dance they may decide to attend a ballet or take a hip hop class; for Art they may decide to visit a museum or take a painting class. The choice is entirely up to the grade level.
